“Thriller” by Michael Jackson, the best-selling 1982 album of all time, which seems to have exceeded one hundred million copies sold worldwide.
The ’80s had just begun when funk, rhythm and blues and soul merged and clashed with rock and disco music in the nine songs on the album, among which it is impossible to identify one of secondary importance. Songs like “Thriller”, “Billie Jean” and “Beat It” have become universally recognized standards, but it is noteworthy that “Thriller” was the first album in history to place all singles (7 out of 9) in the Top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100.
