NIKI LAUDA three times world champion of Formula 1 (in 1975 and 1977 with Ferrari and in 1984 with McLaren), as an entrepreneur he founded and directed three airlines, Lauda Air, Fly Niki and Laudamotion; as a sports executive, after having been a consultant for Ferrari and having managed Jaguar for two seasons, from 2012 until his death he held the position of non-executive president of Mercedes.
Considered to be one of the best drivers in history, he was nicknamed “The Computer” because of his coolness behind the wheel.He competed in 171 Grands Prix, winning 25, scoring 24 pole positions and as many fastest laps. He has had a high-level sports career driving for March, BRM, Ferrari, Brabham and, after a first retirement and subsequent return to racing, McLaren. In 1976, on the Nürburgring circuit, he had a serious accident that left him partially disfigured in the face; hence the habit of wearing a red cap, an accessory that soon became a symbol in his public image.
