On July 21, 1969, two American astronauts, Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin, members of the “Apollo 11 Mission”, set foot on the Moon and walked on lunar soil for the first time. The undertaking had been planned by President Kennedy since 1961, with the aim of recovering the disadvantage accumulated by the United States in the space race. The success of the mission represented the American overtaking the Soviet Union, which in previous years had sent the first artificial satellite into orbit, one of the first living beings and the first man. Furthermore, it had significant consequences on the dynamics of the Cold War, increasing the prestige of the USA throughout the world.
However, this bomber jacket is not just a tribute to NASA and the Apollo 11 Crew: it is a product of haute couture, a unique example handcrafted in Italy and created with the same passion that brings the American dream to life.
