Many, belonging to the African-American bourgeoisie, begin a second life at night: they wear leather clothes and meet up for nocturnal meetings on the streets, crazy races on elaborate motorbikes, clashes linked to betting, all regulated by a severe code of honor. The leader is Smoke (Fishburne), who finds himself facing challenges from the cocky son of an old friend and a couple of impostors who organize rigged races.
